The bow season began here in MS a couple of days ago. Yesterday evening, I realized I could check the sight on my crossbow and still get in a stand about an hour before dark (takes 15 min to get there). So I went out to see what might come. I hunted a natural funnel at a corner of field and woods. About a half hour before dark, a couple of small does came by. I figured they belonged to a larger group and that there would be larger does. Turned out to be right. 5 min later, a big nanny came along. The bolt with a Rage broadhead went through and she simply dropped.
