interesting incident

Howdy All,
I had the 3 Salukis & the GSP with me to run jacks. We ended up
running 3, but this is what happened between the 1st and 2nd runs. We
were walking a fenceline road with fence to the right and open field to
the left. Looking through binos I could see a jack in the road a ways up
checking the fence. We walked. Check again, jack still up there, walk
some more. We are about at the half mile mark when I check again. A hawk
drops out of the sky and misses on his attempt as jack ducks. Another
swoop and again jack avoids the hawk. Jack goes to the field side of the
road to hide in some brush and the hawk drops in on him there and misses
again. Jack hides in the brush and hawk goes sits on a fence post and is
joined by 2 ravens on post on either side, they wait, I walk. Jack comes
out and hawk drops on him and misses, jack finds a bush to hide in next
to fence, hawk goes back to post, I walk. Then jack goes back across the
road to hide in bigger bush. I'm getting closer but still at least a
hundred yards away. Jac comes out and runs along the fence with hawk
right above him tring to get a chance to dive. Thise goes on until they
make it to the corner several hundred yards away where there is a big
pile of tumbleweeds. Jack makes it there and hawk sits on post waiting.
We get close and hawk leaves ad I beat the weeds to flush jack but it
seems he has vanished. We saw a total of 5 jacks.
