If you see any online for sale please post the URL as I would like to
try one if they are priced right.

I have the same thought but if Leopold is getting them back for repair they
can't be that great. I don't know anyone who ever had to send a US. Made
scope back for repair.

Counterfeits probably have slanted reticles ;)
Just being facetious, of course, but once bought a Chinese shotgun scope
and reticle was loose and rotated. Took it back.
There are countless inexpensive Asian optics available, buy one of those.
Well, me for one!
Had a beautiful little Vari-X II, 2x-7x power, on a Browning BAR in .30-06.
A few years ago I could not get this gun sighted in, as the bullets were
landing all over the paper, and even off the target, at 100 yards. Just the
year before, this rifle would print 5 shots into approx. 1.5".
To give you an idea of how high quality I believe Leopolds are, I spent
approx. 2.5-3 hours going over the rifle trying to find the problem. And I
also rate the Brownings as extremely high quality. Finally took a different
rifle that had been shot that same day for load development and installed
the scope on it. Bingo. Shots all over the target.
Weep, cry, wail, and gnashing of teeth! This scope was broken, and it was
only a child. Only about 30 years old at the time.
Sent it in to Leopold for repair, and instead recieved a brand new model to
replace it instead of the repair that I was expecting. And all for no cost
to me. They apologized profusely, and also told me that they could not
repair it because they no longer had the parts for it in stock, as they had
made some changes in the design over the years.
Now I have to shoot this rifle for the next 30 years to see if the new scope
will hold up :-)
And some people wonder why I recommend ONLY Leopold scopes.
BTW, I have never heard of any friends or others who have ever had a problem
with Leopold scopes, except for me of course. Murphy's law was working for
me that day :-)
