The last couple of St. Patrick's Days have been very nice indeed BTW. Nice
and peaceful because both the local pubs have closed down. We had the
College Bar on the north side of the building and the Prince Alfred burning
iz cakes and coillons on the south side, so when they both got noisey there
was no gettin away from it.
The media say that pub closures are due to the supermarkets undercutting pub
prices but from what people have said to me, it has more to do with it being
better to have a quiet drink at home with a meal rather than drinking in a
pub with music blaring so loud that it hurts your ears, in an environment
full of prostitutes gangsters addicts and drug pushers!
So by keeping 'Disorderly Houses' the publicans and breweries have shot
themselves in the foot. I've lost count of the number of pubs that have
closed down in the last decade or so.
Good, innit!
A man walks into a bar.
Arrrrrrghghghgh . . . . . CRUNCH!!!! he goes because all but the fascia has
been demolished and there's a big deep pit behind the pub door!
