For those still inhabiting this froup, GWD is on his last legs as per <ur58t7hmsd2thnvn5oemvg4r0n8odh4...@4ax.com>:
"George is very ill now, to the point where he had to go to Katoomba
hospital last weekend. He is very frail and probably doesn't have much
time left. There are times when he seems fairly cheerful and he still
enjoys listening to music. It is often very difficult to understand
what he is saying and at other times he is too tired to talk at all.
Many of his extended family have been here to see him, and he has
really enjoyed having visitors and generally recognises everyone.
Sometimes he smiles happily and other times he is too tired to care.
Could you please forward this to anyone else who would want to
know how George is doing."

Very sad news. Thanks for letting us know, Tim. I hope he recovers
soon.

Sad to hear it, George was (mostly) a voice of reason and good nature and had a calming effect during some rough times. I wish for a peaceful exit when the time comes.

Gone already :(
It was only a few months ago that he was trying to work in group rides
in between visits with his specialist.
