Heraldry Today is closing down. There is a large stock of about 4,000 books plus about 7,000 copies of Heraldry Today publications. If anyone is interested in buying Heraldry Today as a going concern please contact Sarah Pinches at hera...@heraldrytoday.co.uk or 01672 520617.*****

Hello Richard,

This is a hopefully a premature opinion. Whilst the present proprietor
has retired (and we wish her all the very best) and the property which
houses the business is to be sold on, the business itself is also
hoping to find a buyer. If a buyer is found then of course the
announcement that "Heraldry Today is closing down" would be erroneous.

I for one hope that Heraldry Today does not become Heraldry Yesterday!

I've noticed that the Scottish Genealogy Society web site has gone off
as well. There seems be some failings going around.

I don't think it is appropriate to use the term failing in any
speculation about the future of Heraldry Today. The proprietor, who to
my memory seems to have always been around, has simply retired. Ageing
is, as far as I'm aware, a natural process; it can hardly be described
as a business failing!

As for the Scottish Genealogy Society I think you'll find it is hail
and hearty.

Interesting. The notice that came through the post today says:

"Sadly Mrs Pinches has had to retire and is now in a Home. This means
that Parliament Piece has to be sold and therefore Heraldry Today. If
anyone is interested in buying Heraldry Today as a going concern please
contact us, see above."

The Scottish Genealogy Society does have a new web site; it is without
a forum now however, and up until a few days ago, a web site with
their arms was indeed closed.

As to the word 'failings', it seems that some sites are lacking the
attention they used to receive, so interest does seem to be waning and
that's too bad actually.

Hi Greg,
(Yet another email address I see)

I repeat, The Scottish Genealogy Society is hail and hearty.
http://www.scotsgenealogy.com/

The link you refer to is simply their (old?) forum which has been closed (as is made clear on said forum) because a) the forum administrators have chosen to close it ... or b) the forum operators have automatically closed it because it hasn't had a response for over 30 days. I'm not a Members so wouldn't know why the forum isn't up and running. If you are a Member perhaps you have been told. regardless, it is inaccurate to state that the "Scottish Genealogy Society web site has gone off".

Yet as I said before; there is no forum.

And yes, I have a new gmail account for this forum.
