Ramsey looking for Ramsey

Could someone help me find the tartan and coat of arms for the Ramsey family
(maybe Ramsay) I'm very interested in discovering the origins and traditions
of my family.

As far back as 1884 there were 44 Ramseys and Ramsays listed in Burke's
General Armory. You have a problem unless you can trace your family back
to one of these.

The Ramsay tartan is basically a broad strip of red followed by a broad
strip of black, with two narrow white stripes near the centre of the
black band.

The current Earl of Dalhousie, chief of Clan Ramsay, lives in Brechin,
Angus, Scotland.

The family's original holdings were near Edinburgh in Lothian, at a place
called Dalwoosie (now Dalhousie).

I'll try and look up some more info on the family.
