Can you perhaps fill us in on the reason for the congrats?

Very good. (And) King of Arms. When all is said and done, his
achievement will be something to see.
Thanks Nat

His arms are pretty unusual now: "Argent goutté Gules a Fret engrailed
and molined at the mascle point Sable. Crest: A Coati sejant Sable
collared and lined Or."

Yes, thank you for that. The design is (beautiful). I don't think
I've ever seen an engrailed fret. The curves of the goutte' offset
the fret very nicely. It's one of the most balanced designs of an
otherwise very busy field I've ever seen: and his first attempt as
well. I'd like to see other artists work on this emblazement.
These things are the most enjoyable aspect of the study for me.
I don't understand Greg's reference to "first attempt."
Peter Gwynn-Jones arms are shown on p27, and again depicted as the arms,
crest, mantling and motto on a dinner plate on p102 of the book
____Heraldry___ published in 1993(ISBN 1-55521-932-2) which he
co-authored with Henry Bedingfeld when PG-J was Lancaster Herald, and
Bedingfeld was Rouge Croix Pursuivant. I recommend it for it's clear
descriptions and excellent pictures!
I wish to add my congratulations to Sir Peter, and my hopes for a great
year 2010 for the readers and posters to rec.heraldry!
Regards,
Roger
