Humidity % in gun safe?
Just curious if any of you have checked the humidity in your gun safe(s). I added another safe and I put this one in my shop which has a furnace and is heated to at least 50 degrees F in the winter. My shop also has air conditioning but is not used unless I am working in the shop. Anyway, I have Cannon heater (like a Golden Rod) and also a Cannon... more »

California and handguns from out of state
I don't remember if I asked this before, so please bear with me. I'm sure others may have the same question. Suppose a person residing in California wants to acquire a handgun that is not listed on the state's list of approved handguns. Can that person acquire such a handgun by going through Gunbroker.com and the FFL-to-FFL... more »

Will a pellet gun scare off a coyote?
I have a lot of guns, but I'm wondering if just a pellet gun will scare off a coyote. And I'm talking a pistol that shoots at about 450fps, not a Gammo rifle. It's summer again, and the coyotes are coming out -- and I have a very small dog, a snack if you will. Anyway, all the coyotes I've encountered seem to... more »

Mosin update
Thanks for the Cosmo clean up tips. Worked great. Got it cleaned up and went to the range with 147gr steel core surplus (great deal), 174gr Silver Bear and 203gr Silver Bear new manufacture ammo. With the 147 and 174 grainers I was shootin 4" groups at 50 yds with iron sights and 8-9 inchers at 100. A wee bit better with the 203's... more »

Value of Japanese rifle?
We're about to `inherit' a Japanese army rifle, model 99 w/bayonet and scabbard. I think it's very rusty, but can clean that up if necessary. I think the stock's cracked or broken, also. Would this have some value? ------------------------------ ------------------------------ ----- Learn about rec.guns at [link]... more »
