  Sounds an awfully lot like (and ballistically looks extremely similar to) &lt;br&gt; the 7.62x39, which has been in the AR15 platform for some time now. The &lt;br&gt; differences between it and the .308 Winchester are distinct. &lt;br&gt; Don&#39;t know of Remington is trying to expedite recovery from the .17 HMR &lt;br&gt; debacle or not, but their advertising is, at best, creative.

  Shot a running jack rabbit at about 100 yards with a 22 pistol when I was &lt;br&gt; young..... using a S&amp;amp;W Model 41. I like to think my marksmanship and &lt;br&gt; skill was a factor.... maybe improved the odds... but still I would say it &lt;br&gt; was luck.
