Subject: Is Desert Eagle Banned???

Can somebody tell me if the Desert Eagle is now classed as an assault weapon
in the USA?

I would appreciate a definative statement not an unsustatiated opinion.
Thanks in advance.

Carl.

No.  It isn't mentioned by name in the Krime (bill), and it only
has one of the defining characteristics (weighs >50 oz unloaded), of which
two are required to classify as an assault weapon.

If its magazine is in the grips, NO.  It only fails on one "evil feature"
(> 50 oz), not two.

Why not?  It weighs more than the limit imposed in the Krime bill.

That gives it one strike.  It must,  however,  have two of the "evil
characteristics" in the bill to fall under the jurisdiction of that
legislation.  Therefore,  it's still OK.  Clear as mud?  Makes about as
much sense as all of the other anti-gun legislation I've seen...

Yes, but it also need one additional bad feature before it's banned.

Because it meets only one of the two criteria (weight is just one).
Others include: Threaded barrel, shroud, flash suppressor,
                       Magazine infront of grip, etc.
