I have to admit, this was not what happened at all.
Colbert was really funny. The clips of the girls shooting full auto
were not bad either.

I have to disagree. I thought Colbert did his best to make us pro 2nd
Amenment folks looks like loonatics.
Then he really showed his opinions in thelsat few seconds of the
interview.
So which do you think is more accurate?
1. Colbert thinks that citizens should carry 12 guns and a bazooka
concealed at all times.
2. Colbert thinks gun rights advocates are crazy to oppose "sensible"
laws that prohibit "assault weapons" and bazookas.
I'm not saying I know his position, but he sure tried to portray pro-
gun people as a bit crazy.

Colbert seems to know what he is talking about, too bad that clown from
Brady did not. He says the government should know who has what guns, and
that "regulate" in the second amedment meand government oversight. Says we
make it too easy for crazy people to get guns, then does not give any
examples. I guess he is admitting the Brady Bill is a failure? Now you
know why these clowns will not come out and debate.
Unfortunately, Colbert was attacking guns. He was making us all look
crazy, for one, and for another, making us look too simple to bring up
one of the many good, solid arguments against the Brady bunch. I get
so tired of that smug little....ahem. He's using an attack that goes
on far too often in our universities, of which I am an unfortunate
inmate for the next year. Here's how it works:
1. decide on a topic
2. make yourself a caricature of the side you don't like
3. Babble incessantly, making that side look as foolish as possible.
4. Start acting like yourself again and say "That's what's wrong with
group X".
Colbert just implied to America that we get offended by people having
the gall to get injured, we all carry weapons that are illegal at this
point (Everyone see the MP5-K?) and further contributing to the myth
that I've been fighting for the last year or so up here, which is that
any of us can walk into a gun store, pick up an M249 SAW and 50,000
rounds of ammunition, and just walk out the door, no background check,
no nothing, and the myth goes on to imply that we can all afford it on
blue collar salaries.
Now I'm by no means an idiot, but if I'm missing something that could
let me purchase even 5,000 rounds of 5.56 a month on what I make,
please, let me know! The anti-gunners certainly seem to think I can
do it!
Anyway, short version, colbert's got cranial rectosis, as usual.
The girls with the P90s were nice, though.
