Finding a SXS Straight Hand Twelve, Finally..

Well, I was patient, and looked around, including a respectable looking
12 in Corpus.
I scratched around at the recommended gun store near Oklahoma City
(thanks for the tip!)
The folks at Gene Sears had a Browning 12 - but out of my league.
And they told me - "there is no call for straight SXS guns with
sporting barrels in Oklahoma. You are not going to find one in state."

This is Western country after all. People will sell a coach gun
(a SXS with a short barrel and a pistol grip.) but not a bird gun.

So I had my son buy the model I looked at in Texas. I asked him to look
for the Tristar.
He bought it , and called me to say: it was a new - no, unused -
Brittany, and they had discounted it by $300 (No call for this
traditional style in S Texas either, I guess.)
But it was a bargain for my purpose, no doubt.

Happy days...
