I'd like to make some reduced loads for my K31 7.5mm Swiss rifle.
Anybody have any pet loads for this round?

I have plenty 4895 so I'd like to use that but I have some other powers
to choose from...

It's about the same capacity as a .308, proceed from there. 4895
probably won't work too well out of its working pressure range, you'll
probably have to go to reduced loads of a faster powder to get
complete combustion. You could probably use old .30-06 reduced load
data for a starting point, that was a perennial item in some of the
older loading books. See Sharpe's Complete Guide to Handloading for
some examples. One of the older Handloader magazines mentioned "The
Load", which I believe was about 13-14 gr. of Red Dot behind any
bullet from 150-165 gr., worked with a variety of surplus rifles
chambering about the same capacity cartridges of roughly .30 caliber.
LOOK IT UP BEFORE PROCEEDING, though. My memory isn't what it was.
Lyman's older manuals had some .30 caliber data using .32 S&W bullets
sized down, that's if you cast. You probably won't find a whole lot
of data on the 7.5 itself, though, most guys are just trying to
duplicate service ballistics, not make gallery piece out of it.

Hodgdon uses H4895 for their reduced load recipes here
http://www.hodgdon.com/PDF/Youth%20Loads.pdf Hodgdon also lists data
for the 7.5x55 Swiss so you can do the H4895 reduced load calculation
yourself http://data.hodgdon.com/cartridge_load.asp

If you don't shopping for lead bullets there's always "The Load" by
C.E. Harris http://www.castbulletassoc.org/forum/view_topic.php?id=1387&forum_id=22
and http://www.sksboards.com/smf/index.php?topic=29468.0;wap2

My Speer book lists .308 loads with SR4759. I've been to all the stores
around here are completely and they're all out of smokeless powders.

I found some old fidonet saved articles from years ago and Ed Harris
posted a cast bullet load for all military rifles that used 16g of 2400
with a 150 to 180g cast bullets. What I don't know is if I can use this
load data with a jacketed bullet....

You're right, there is little info on the 7.5mm and what I've found is
supposed to duplicate factory loads. I have plenty of other rifles that
I can shoot, so I don't need to hunt or shoot this rifle with hot loads.
So I'm going to spare my shoulder the abuse of heavy recoil with a
steel but plate.

I've been hording lead for a long time but I'm just getting into
casting. I find .45ACP slugs from a Lee mold are easy to make but .225
and .309 slugs from a Lyman molds are much more work to get right. When
I sort it all all out, I'll try the loads from Ed Harris...

Thanx for the links, the last one was the best. I have more than enough
Red Dot to use for this but I wasn't thinking about it as a rifle powder...

Get a copy of the Cast Bullet Handbook from Lyman. There are a wealth
of reduced power/lower velocity (1800-1900fps) loads there. I'd post
some here, but I'm 200 miles from my bookshelf at the moment. If I can
remember (50th birthday rapidly approaching) I'll look some up when I
return home.
