I'm new to the outdoor shooting venues, so I was quite surprised to find
shooting benches were set up so each lane had enough room for both my wife
and me.
Safety was their primary concern. I like that. The only thing that I
though of as a negative was that during the no firing times, you were not
allowed to touch your firearms, ammo, mags, etc. Loading takes time
especially for me, since I have obvious disabilities and loading magazines
for me is a chore. I thought that only allowing loading during actual hot
range time to be a bit overboard, but again, I understand the reason behind
the rules and can't fault them for that.
Target backboards were provided along with tape and rugs to place your rifle
or pistol and rests were also provided. I could not place my targets due to
the set up, so my wife had to place them for us. Having pistol and rifle
ranges placed side by side worked out well too. I have to guess that I
would need to ask for assistance if I were to go by myself though. The
range masters were all equally as friendly as those in the building too.
Nobody was rude, and everyone seemed to have a good time. After commenting
on how much I liked the overall setup, one range master told me, "It's all
done for you, the shooter". I thought his reply was somewhat corny, but I
appreciated the sentiment.
In the end, I left with a generally good feeling about the park. I just
wonder why, when the park is situated so far from any housing and
development, people in the area complain so much. Noise levels were very
low. Even with one patron shooting a very loud 50 caliber rifle, noise
levels were almost non existent as soon as you left the actual range. In
fact, you couldn't hear any noise from firearms once you left the parking
area.
My wife and I enjoyed our time there. We both shot well, and the overall
feeling was one of friendship and comraderie. I have to rate the shooting
park at 8 out of 10.

Tom,
Same rules on every range I've been to. Thankfully.
Ask if it's OK back away from the line to load mags.
