I have a Mossberg 500A shotgun that is completely stock. I would like
to add some kind of led flashlight to the front end. Any experience or
ideas on what might work with this gun?

Just about any of them that are on the market will work fine.

Just try to avoid the ones that are only turned on with a momentary
pushbutton on the back cap. Let off the button..the light goes off, isnt
my idea of very handy.

My experience with the cheap lights on a .44 rifle hasn't been good.
A few shots and they no work no mo'. Shakes the innards loose. In
this case, one of the $50+ jobbies may be the way to go. I'd rather
have a separate light for defense, rather than putting a "shoot here"
lamp on the gun. The rifle wasn't intended for "tactical" use, it was
to be used for hunting. I'm assuming you want to use this thing for
defense, right?
