I got one. It seems to be reliable and well-made. It has the standard
59 series frame, so grips and mags are EASY to find. I got some 17
and 19 round (not extended) high capacity magazines also. I paid
$375 at a gun show FYI.

My wife HAD one that should loved dearly. In a fit of stupidity, she sold
it an now wishes she could get another. The gun is all 3rd Gen and takes
pretty much the same parts as the 5906. It's got a matte finish. As with
all S&W, an investment in springs and a trigger job will bring great
dividends. Although I am a dedicated Glock man, I would sy buy the 915.
You will be pretty happy with it.

I had a different post about this...I saw one in satin stainless for
$329.95 at a _retail_ sports shop...cheaper than my FFL friends!

=I didn't know they made one in stainless. What was the frame
=made of?

I was wrong...it was a 5906. AND it's gone. Mysteriously,
the 915 they have in now costs $420.

That's what I paid for my 915 two years ago. I think they are going for
around $380 down here.

I bought one this summer new for $375, got two 15 round mags with it. I am
really satistfied with it. I have a big hand, and I like the feel of the
915 - it has a big grip, so I get the feeling that I am holding onto
something. It also seems more balanced to me than the Beretta did. The
Beretta felt front heavy when I was holding it - I didn't like that it
wanted to tip to the ground when I was just holding it up - the 915 didn't
do that, which really influenced me.

My girlfriend likes it as well. She likes the feel, and also that it is
balanced as well. It's not a real heavy gun either, which is another thing
she likes.
