I bought an LCP a few months ago because carrying my XD40sc all the time
wasn't an option.

After suffering feed problems right out of the box, I put in a #13 Wolff
slide spring, ditched the trigger spring that came in the package, and went
back to the range. Excellent transformation. No more FTF problems, I can
shoot whatever ammo I can find out of it, and there's less felt recoil. Plus
the brass doesn't end up 15ft away. :-)

Is a #13 Wolff spring stronger or weaker than the original?
I've had failure to feed issues with a P3AT, and it seems like the
spring is a bit too weak.
The extractor tension is enormous, and that is where it jams, as the
round is trying to slide under the extractor. Tapping the slide
usually closes it.
I thought about a stronger spring, but I was afraid that it might not
fully cycle.
It fails with regular FMJ so I don't think it is a bullet issue. It
works well when clean, but after 20 rounds or so it starts getting
picky.
An email to Kel-Tec went unanswered.

No experience with the P3AT, but this is a not-uncommon problem on
1911s. My usual solution is to lightly polish the breechface, and the
portion of the extractor that contacts the brass. My lightly I mean by
hand, not with a power tool. Polishing the feed ramp couldn't hurt
also.

The #13 is stronger. Wolff also has a tuning pack with three different
strength springs in it.

And yes, Wolff offers springs for the P3AT as well. I've heard of a few guys
getting good results out of them.
