The only problem with being at the cutting edge of technology
is that you tend to bleed a lot...

There are lots of interesting looking landscape programs at my local
computer store, but I am hesitant to choose without advice. This
question gets asked a lot in this group and rarely generates any
answers. I'd be really interested to know if you find anything out.

I have one on CD, but I am unimpressed. It's a very cheap program called
3D Garden Designer. It's with "Mom's Reference Pack Klik & Play." Since
it was so cheap, I thought I'd give it a try, but so far it's been to
complicated for me to figure out. If I do, I'll let you know.

At present we am using a low-end CADD program (Autosketch by Autodesk) to
sketch the general layout of the gardens. Then we write in plant locations,
types, etc. As we think about it (after one e-mail we received) paper and a
notebook (well thought out and organized) may be the best approach. It is
easier to carry and use around the garden, then use the computer to reprint
the updated pages (when the snow flies or on a rainy day). I guess we were
just wondering what landscape programs had to offer that might be useful?
