What happened to Mick? Have not been on newsgroup for quite awhile. Changed
ISP and they don't have a newsgroup server. Been watching newsgroup for a
few weeks and don't see much activity like there used to be.

Haven't heard hide nor hair from Mick in a very long time. As far as the
activity here, many (if not most) ISPs discontinued newsgroup access. Ray
Barkalow started a photo group on Freelists. Go to Ray's site for info on
accessing that: www.firstrays.com . We're also mostly signed on to
orc...@freelist.com . That's the text group.

I (and many others) still access this group via eternalseptember.com.

Try a search for Mick. I haven't checked his web site in quite a while, but
you used to be able to contact him via that site.

Most of our lives do not revolve around Orchids. They are just a hobby.

Want to know how to build a spy satellite?

Um, actually, many of us do indeed have lives that greatly involve orchids,
even though for most it is a hobby. Not to the extent that other things are
put aside, but orchids are a passion for most of us. It's inexplicable, this
fascination, but it's real. If it were not, Wendy7 wouldn't have thousands
of them, nor would Kathy Barrett. And I wouldn't have hundreds. Of course, I
am limited by space. Were that not so, I'm sure I'd also have thousands, and
I personally know people who do. When a hobby involves thousands of
individual plants, it has gone past being something incidental, no?

HERESY!!! Speak for yourself; I live, eat, speak and breathe orchids. I
also find time for a few hobbies like work, cooking, dogs, and exercise.
But orchids are the focus.

Absolutely! - and I might even have some of the skills necessary - I'm a
pretty handy guy.

I know I shouldn't have opened my mouth.

Suffice it to say that I try to multi-task my passions.

Orchids are one of many including firearms, stocks, craps, family, collector
cars, job, orange ranching.

I'm a sinner, I like mine with Tony Packo's sauce and (gasp) Kraft
cheese out of the pressurized can. Alternately its a Claussen pickle,
sauerkraut from a glass jar and a spicy mustard. I hope we're talking
that sort of dog...???

Mick's business was Husky Boy or something like that. I'm sure he'd tun
up in a google search.

Sorry, an omitted comma. I would never cook a dog. Children, on the
other hand...I have been accused of hating children, but that is untrue.
Properly cooked and served with a good sauce, they can be quite delicious!

One of the great bits of bantering between me and my wife when
eating out and sees a cute child (Not screaming, and not hers)
"Don't you want a baby?"
"Yeah, but I can never eat a whole one in one sitting."

Mick was in the flasking business, and also construction management, if my
memory serves me correctly. Anyway his web site is:

http://www.orchidflask.com/

Also, I copied this notice:

"My long running fishing trip is winding down. I am leaving ISP
Bellsouth/ATT
and will be setting this website up again on another ISP in late September
2009.

Watch www.orchidflask.com for our new location.

Thanks,
