Before I ramble off my opinion of Genesis MKII, let me say that I did not
play it long. As soon as I saw SNES MKII, the Genesis version went back in
the box to be returned to the video game store. But here are my initail
opinions, I hope it can help all potentiol buyers.

The differences between the Genesis MKII and the coin-op are far too
plentiful to mention. MKII is an improvement over MKI, but still a far
cry from the arcade and IMHO, a far cry from what the Genesis is actually
capable of.

The very first thing you will notice is bland colors. Several of the
backgrounds look putrid and the fighters look mediocre. In the games behalf
the animation is very good and looks like the arcade. Most things in the
game are faithful to the arcade, they just are not recreated very will (well).
Beyond the look of the game, the first thing you will notice is the horrible
sound. The music is average at best, but the sound effects are what will
really make you mad. I think the only speech in the entire game is
"Fight" "Finish HIm" "Gotcha" "Come Here" and "Outstanding"

The speech is actually very good, there just is not enough of it. None of
the fighters are announced, it doesn't say flawless victory, or even fatality.
I am being quite serious when I say those phrases listed above are the
only things the game says.

Aside from the limited speech, you will also notice less than average
sound effects. Gone are all of LIU Kang's obnoxious screems, Raiden
has none of his yells, and when Raiden teleports the sound sounds like it
came right off of my 2600 (no exaggeration). In short, the sound relly
sucks. (please ignore my typos. I'm on a sorry computer with a broken
backspace key)

Here are some more things in the game that will piss you off. The effect
of falling in to the pit is just plain terrible. If I didn't know what it
was supposed to be, I would be wondering what the hell was going on.
The word Friendship looks horrible and bounces stupidly. Little things
like that will really piss you off.

One final thing you will notice about the game is really terrible play
control, at least if you are using the three-button controller. Believe
it or not, the SNES version handles like a dream next to the Genesis
version. It handles better than SNES MKI, but not nearly as well and
nice as Genesis MKI.

These are the things I noticed in a few moments of game play. If they
sound like things you can do without, buy the game. Youw will find that
it is a decent translation. But if little things piss you off, I
recommend that you stay away. In other words, MKII is a decent game in
and of itself, but if you are comparing it to the arcade and expect a
good translation, you will only be disappointed. Definitely, if you
own a SNES, get that version over hthe Genesis one.

Please don't flame me, these are just opinions. I just want to help
people who have not played the game yet. But if you have a different
opinion or agree withme, please post. I hope this helps somebody.
Look for An Opinion on SNES MKII!

Whoops i meant there are no, not now. Again, there are no low punches in
the genesis version. I can stand all the other changes, but this is one i
cannot.

Next time, don't repost the entire article (especially a long one) just
to add 1 line! Thanks...
