Today I got hold of a cheap arcade stick board by a company called
Innovation. The thing is called "The Stick2" and has cables to be used
for the SNES and the Sega Mastersystem. It has an eight-way stick (a
pretty okay one for a $5 buy) and six buttons (not the best, but
okay).
Now, I wanna connect it to my PC to use it in MAME. I have found a
page explaining to connect a plain SNES controller to the PC to be
used with SNES emulators (http://www.geocities.com/controllerc80). I
was wondering if any of you guys know if I can connect this The Stick2
via that little hack to my PC (I guess the internals of The Stick2
take care of translating the input to normal SNES controller input).
And I would like to know if it's possible to use it in MAME (or other
non-SNES-emu apps that use joystick input).
I searched the web and Google groups but couldn't find much info on
it. If nothing else works I'll just throw the internals of The Stick2
away and build a "normal" joystick adapter to work with its
controllers, but I'd prefer to keep this SNES/SMS functionality.
Any help would be appreciated!
Cheers,
Roel
