Wedbush Morgan’s Michael Pachter just put out his US sales estimates
for November, predicting a landslide victory for Wii.

“We estimate sell-through of 1,400,000 Wii, 800,000 Xbox 360 and
400,000 PS3 consoles,” he said.

“Our console sell-through forecasts reflect our belief that supplies
for Wii hardware increased significantly again this month.”

Wow. I mean, what kind of impressive education and business accumen must
this guy have to make such a bold prediction?

Especially since the only data he has only shows the Wii winning by a
landslide over the PS3 and 360 combined EVERY MONTH SINCE THE WII CAME OUT.

What's next? Care to predict which side of the sky the sun will rise from
tomorrow morning? It's only been rising in the east for the past ~7
billion years, but I have a special feeling about tomorrow...

If anything the estimate could be too low. Nintendo claims to have sold
over 800k during the week of Thanksgiving alone.

He didn't just simply say "Wii will sell more", he actually estimating
figures. Which isn't even why this was originally posted.

Pachter generally just estimates actual numbers. I think "landslide
victory" was the writer's contribution. :-)

Possibly. However, the Wii was in short supply through most of
November. Nintendo didn't really ramp up shipment until just before
the Thanksgiving holiday.

I'm going to call Pachter an idiot again and say all of these numbers
are low.

From what I'm hearing the Wii sold 800,000 in the week of Thanksgiving
ALONE.
