I'm also more of a player than a collector. I own two companies that
develop computer games and have a weekly reviews column that runs
Mondays in the Pioneer Press under the name Vox Day.

Thanks to Sean Kelly, I now have two Vectrex's to go with my
Intellivision, Atari 2600, ColecoVision, etc. But even though I love
the classics, I still appreciate the new stuff too.

Just a shout out to see if there's any other MNers out there. Also
curious if any other Minnesotans have a Vectrex at all. I've so far only
ran into ONE person who owns about 10 of them. But more on that later.

Here's one checking in....I'm located in south Minneapolis. Dunno about you,
but I've been suffering a real dry spell lately....maybe because of you!
Hahaha...

Haven't seen *anything* lately, let alone a Vectrex. Last time I saw one
was at the Goodwill on S. Robert St. in St. Pa a couple of years ago, and
I *passed it up!* because I was only interested in Atari stuff at the
time....

Well, I am a semi-classic collector (C64, NES, SMS; maybe an 8-bit Atari
one of these days). Actually, I'm not a collector, I'm a player - no
shrinkwrapped games in my house! There's NOTHING in SE Minnesota
(Rochester area) that I've been able to find. The best thing I've ever
gotten here was a Commodore SX64 that I bought from an aquaintance. If
it weren't for the Internet, I wouldn't have a damn thing.

And I just so happen to have a 1971 Spitfire Mk IV (sadly, at my parents'
house in Indiana).

Count me in! I live on Stevens Square, and don't make regular thrift
runs, but I've picked up some nice finds in my time. Right now I have
a 7800 (picked up when I lived in CT), a Colecovision (very few carts)
and about three dozen games. I'm anxiously awaiting my first 'net
purchase, two pairs of paddles, so I can go nutso on Warlords. I also
have two semi-classics (SMS, TG-16), and two "current" systems (Genny,
Jag).

I've never even SEEN a Vectrex.

After 5 years in the California bay area, I've just moved back to MN. I
gotta tell ya, it's hard being a MN classic-phile. I got used to huge
year-round flea markets in the land of former Atari employees -- although
I have to admit I was never lucky enough to stumble upon a Vectrex. Since
coming back, my 2600 collection has stalled at 285. I guess it's time to
start sifting through the Combat carts at thrift stores...
