Is there anybody in the Detroit area that has a working Tempest? I
want to check my game board to see if it works. I'm trying to
eliminate all possibilities so I can finally get my game up and
running.

The game plays blind and I've replaced pretty much everything on the
monitor. A few people have told me to make sure my game board
actually works properly. I'm in Westland. Where are you?

ok your game plays blind. did you reflow all the solder joints on the header
pins on the monitor boards.
did you replace the side mount transistors on the monitor frame

Be gentle, you're talking to a newbie on this stuff. :) When you say
header pins are you referring to the connectors on the boards where
the wire harnesses plug into? I should resolder all those? And I
haven't replaced any transistors. Only capacitors and resistors. I
do have some transistors that came with my kit. Should I just go
ahead and replace all of them?

i am being gentle
you need to reflow all the header pins which are the pins where the
connectors plug into and when you have reflowed all of those you need to
check and make sure there is continuty from each pin to the trace it is in
line with. when rebuilding a dead 6100 you should replace the transistors
too. make sure you have mica and some heatsink compound for the transisters

Well, i went ahead and reflowed all the pins on the connectors and
even replaced all the transistors, capacitors, and resistors that came
with the bob roberts additional parts kit. It appears I did more
damage than good though. Now my LV2000 led lights won't even come
on. What does that mean exactly?
