Hello all,
I have been playing around with the tempest code and doing some light
hacking in my spare time and I have created 16 all new levels for
tempest. I was considering maybe selling the ROM chips with the new
levels, maybe on ebay and I was wondering if there was any interest in
it. Any one with a tempest think they might buy them if I made a run
of them?

Got pics of the levels? I know there was the tempest tubes that came
out way back when.

James, I would be interested in seeing some screen shots of the levels as
well.

Agreed.... some screen shots would be nice to judge from.
16 new levels sounds very interesting.
Tempest tubes is neat, but I wouldn't gaga over it.

Will it be a multiple ROM swap ?
Can it be switchable like you can do with the Tubes hack ?

Definitely interested.

It is a single rom swap. It is the rom at 118 that holds all the
level information. I was thinking of $25 shipped. There is a way to
make it where you can have both sets with a switch but I don't know if
I wanted to get into that or not. I will try to post level pics maybe
by this weekend.

are you able to make it to switch between them like you can in the
Multipede kit? Im certain people would be a premium for that.

This previously posted tempest tubes hack should work for your ROM
change

http://www.marvin3m.com/video/tempest.htm
obviously though you'd have to replace the tempest tubes code with
your code.

you could also make a simple plug in replacement board that has both
regular sized ROM chips with both chips address lines and data lines
tied into the respective address and data buses, you'd then could have
a switch (like in the hack) that puts whatever chip is NOT being used
into the high impedance mode output (rather than being one of the the
address select lines as described in the hack above)
