Add my name to that list. I've been watching for almost 2yrs for one on
eBay but just can't justify the $200 to $300 they sell for. Good candidate
for a multi board.

I sold mine for $270 shipped a year and a half ago. I got it in a box lot
at an auction for about $15 with some other stuff.

It's a hard game. I never really got into it. It has a crazy cult following
though.

It works great in MAME for anyone that just wants to check it out.
I didn't remember it by name, but did remember it once I saw it
(similar to Castlevania for the NES).

I agree with Dave, its one of those games that is so frustratingly
hard that I got tired of it pretty fast. You make it through a tough
area after trying 3 times, only to get to the next area, die
immediately, and have it put you way back past the first area that
gave you trouble. I enjoy challenging games, but thats a play mechanic
that turns me off.

Yeah, they sell for some crazy $$. Just sold mine a little while ago to a
guy in Sweden for $220+...... Seems like a alright game the little amount I
played it, but it would definitely get old in the long run....

I've never seen this game before and it really has the cheesy
feel of Rastan 2, mixed in with some Indiana Jones (the whip).
I watched the demo and that was enough for me. I can't
believe it demands that kind of money. If I would have run
across it, I would have sold the board for $20 (not knowing
any better)!

The reason it sells for that kind of money is that it IS the arcade
version of Castlevania. With the crazy cult following of Castlevania
behind it and the addition of it being a fairly uncommon board, the
value of Haunted Castle has shot up like crazy. Even with the reprint
they did for the PS1 (Castlevania Chronicles) the price hasn't
dropped...instead it just fueled demand for the original board. Most
of the people looking for it aren't arcade gamers/collectors, they're
hardcore Castlevania fans or console gamers that don't know the value of
JAMMA boards. For a mediocre game, it's VERY spendy thanks to the
collector's market.

I have been wnating one for a while as im a castlevania fan and a pcb
collector but the price has kept me from getting one as im a cheap ass
also well not really but yeah lol

D Get yourself a copy of castlevania:portrait of ruin for Nin Ds if you
havnt already.. if you dont own a ds or the game get both its worth it.
I find myself playing it aaaaal the time.. mega mega replay value also.
.. Seriously the best CV imo. The whips are back and has tons of
classic elements.

Well, like I said, Konami DID reprint Haunted Castle for the PS1 as
"Castlevania Chronicles" so you can snag that for about $35.
