When Phillipe was quitting the repro business, I bought a lot of films,
dies, etc. for some of his pieces with the idea that in the future,
when supply of these had died down, I would have these printed up
through my vendor.

I know that I never will do this, so I am offering these up to see if
someone on the group, maybe Todd at TNT, QuarterArcade, PhoenixArcade,
etc. might want these. Or some other entrepeneur. I need to find the
list of which items these are for, but I thought I would shoot this out
here to see if there was any interest.

I would be open to offers of cash or trade. If its one of the existing
repro guys, I would be open to trades on their merchandise. I may even
eBay this, but it seems that this is the best place to advertise these.

Email me if interested. I will get you a list of what these are to.

I've always wondered what these things look like. Any chance you post a
few pics?

Sure, the only caveat is I've never tried to post any pics to the web.
If someone points me to a tutorial, I'll try to get pics posted.

I already have more than half a dozen replies on these. I will get pics
to those of you responded later today.

Thanks for everyone's interest so far.

Okay, I dug these out of their shipping boxes. Everything is in perfect
condition. Phillipe took care in shipping these to me.

I have the films for Burgertime marquee, Burgertime control panel
overlay (upright), Centipede sideart and Frogger sideart. The dies to
cut the Frogger sideart and Burgertime control panel are also here, as
well as a disc Phillipe sent with the art files for all of the above
art. The CD also has his art files for Tempest cocktail cpos and
Galaxian cpos though I don't have the films for these.

If you are interested, let me know. Maybe we can work out a trade, cash
and trade, whatever. I have had more than a dozen responses, which is
suprising to me. I didn't think there were more than a handful of
people this would be of practical interest to, unless you just want to
own a piece of arcade collecting history.

Folks have been asking what I want for these. Quite honestly, I am
taking offers. There really is no market to compare something like this
to and I can't remember exactly what I paid for them (other than too
much!). I have sat on these for several years and I don't need to sell
them, but then again, they aren't doing anyone any good just sitting in
my basement.

For all of you who wanted to see pics of the items, Brent has been kind
enough to host them. Thanks Brent.

BTW - I have had some intriguing offers and I am confident these will
go to someone who will make use of them.

That would be nice if they went to someone who can use these for the
hobby than someone who will just put them away and never use them
again..

The dies are worth no more than about $200.00 each. That is what I
would pay for new dies from my diecutter.

Now, now Dave...Don't assume just because I had them that I didn't
intend to use them. Just the economics didn't make sense right now. And
as for things the collecting community can use, I purchased a NOS
Robotron upright overlay for $300 after searching for a true NOS one
for 3 years. I offered it to PhoenixArcade to do a run of accurate
repros since the existing ones aren't that good. It would have made the
overlay I bought essentially worthless. Amazingly, all the people who
over the years have wanted a better repro wouldn't pony up for a lousy
20 preorders. So, I get a little thin-skinned when I read comments like
yours.

Before people start going off on others for 'collecting' this stuff you have
to realize that aside from maybe the Burgertime CPO's there's MORE than
enough of the other items in the lot that are readily available from
multiple parts resellers right now, absolutely no reason to reprint those
items for the foreseeable future.

I too would like to see them rest in the hands of someone that could
potentially reuse them in the future but it's not like there is or will be a
pressing need for it anytime soon.

So that's how it's done! It looks like you lay the decal, CPO or
whatever on a flat surface, place the die on top and maybe use a big
roller overtop. Pretty cool. Thanks Mark, Brent for posting those.

Not quite. The die goes into a special press and then the sheets are
fed into the press. There is a lot of force needed to get those steel
rule dies to cut sheets, especially platics.

LOL, Mark I did not mean anything By that.. I just mean it would be
nice if they went to someone who could use them now. Save some of the
guys who do repo's now some time and money..
