I just got a 25" Hantarex Polo monitor which does not blow its fuse but
neither does it power up. Listening closely one can hear a ticking sound
coming not from the big flyback but from another transformer in the power
supply section of the board, labeled TH101. The parts list says its a
"Switch Transformer, Eldor 20820743 / Semar 17016232". I think I've found
the equivalent is HR-9495 which some place in Ireland can sell me.
I can go this route and hope that's the problem, or if anyone has other
suggestions or a chassis they want to sell me please let me know.

Sounds like a no load problem with your monitor. check and see if you have a
cold solder joint somewhere or an open secondary of the switchmode
transformer (unlikely because they usually short out). The hantarex polo
monitor chassis was made in the same RCA factory that used low quality
solder that crystalized around big leads that were mounted in the board
after prolonged heat stress (hantarex design flaw). resolder the swichmode
transformer, the rectifying diodes, the flyback transformer and horizontal
output transistor. When your chassis board gets heat killed permenetly, you
should try to use a Wells-Gardner board (K7xxx series). they dowonderful on
those RCA picturetubes and the ceramic resitors dont burn through the
board.
Happy Repairs,
