Nice CP.....looking better!
Ted
Is there a reason you chose to do this over a MAME cab?
Here's my take... After doing the controls, you're still stuck with a
pretty bad monitor and cabaret sized cab of questionable quality and
unquestionably bad looks. A spare computer and the same amount of cash
(or less) as that thing could have you playing more games on a full
sized machine.
Good job on the pretty close copy of the Defender button layout
though.
Tim
I have a mame machine. It is full size. It's in the
entertainment room. Actually, I've built quite a few Mame's. I agree.
Dollar for dollar mame is better. But a decent mame machine costs
more. . . Computer $200, Cab $150, CP $50, monitor $50- $200, JPac,
IPac etc., etc. I've also had over 70 dedicated machines. . . I
like the small cab because it's in my computer room. Once I get the TV
remote I should be able to get a decent picture. At least as good as
Mame computer to S-video TV.
I bought this on sale and 10% off for getting a Target card. Came
to $365. Control panel cost me $47.50 and about three hours time. I
can easily spend about 40 hours total making a mame right. . . I've
also built a few multi- jamma cabs which are nice. More user friendly
than mame. But the boards are always around $400. . .
I guess I really bought it just to see what I can do with it. I
guess this is why this is such a fun hobby.

Yup - looks just like mine, but until I manage to kill the current CP
I'm not rebuilding it.
Do the colors seem just a bit off to you on yours Bill? If I hold down
P1 & P2 start to get to the diagnostics screen the right most color bar
is pink, and I'd think it should be red.
I emailed the manufacturer about this and they said they were going to
send me a remote that I could use to change these settings. Haven't
received it yet, but I'm not expecting it overnight delivery either.
So far they folks at their support that I've emailed with have been very
nice and have replied very quickly.
Is this the same as having a dedicated machine with Clay's
multi-Williams in it? Not quite, but for all the hassle I'd have to go
through to rebuild a cab and do it right vs. just buying one of these
I'm a happy camper.
It was my wife's early Christmas present to me, and I enjoy it. Finally
- for the first time in 20+ years I'm playing Robotron the way it's
supposed to be played. That is if I can get the 7 year old off of it.

sonofabitch >>>
- My reds are orange-pink too. I'm waiting on the remote as well.
I was thinking of buying one of those universal remotes. I don't know
if they work brightness and color and stuff, though. Mine was a
Christmas gift from my wife too! (That's why it's allowed in the
computer room!)

you can get older models (just as good) for less $100 on ebay... and can
program them to do anything you want.
you can also download code files for almost anything at
www.remotecentral.com
I love mine and will never give it up (I like it even better then the
Crestron as it's hand held instead of massive like the Crestron).

I read that it has auxiliary inputs, but has it been determined for
sure that this display is remote capable? The way they cheaped out on
everything else, it wouldn't surprise me if it's gutted.

Clay said the mfg had someone do new ASICs for it... I wouldn't expect it
to look very similar to the multi-boards.

It's done that a couple times-- then it bounces back to $397. My wife
looked it up once and got the $355 price; then when I went back later in the
evening it was back to $397 (and sold out).
Right this second, it's $355 and in stock. I wonder if you can get that
price and sign up for a credit card online and get another 10% off? Of
course the shipping pretty much erases the savings. Maybe in-store they'll
price match the website?

Big dog and his followers, thats a laugh. If you cant tell that this
machine is a POS then I really dont know what else to add.

After reading this post, I would like to add something. Fuck you and
