Fun with photomicrographs:

A guy at work is reverse engineering the atari video controller for the 2600
for his masters' project (damn, how the hell did I get stuck doing machine
vision on mine... and why does my phd research have nothing to do with
arcade games!)... and this is one of his pics... too bad I didn't hear
about it earlier, or I could have had him do something more useful,
like repro pokeys ;)

Not really :)

They'd probably cost 100's of dollars ;)

Well, considering you can buy the old Atari cartridges for $1US each
and they each have a POKEY inside I don't think is worth producing
them yet...

I always wondered if they wondered why the BallBlazer was so much more
popular than any of the other cartridges.

They use to be $0.80 each - now up to $2! Still a great deal.

There's a huge pile of Combat cartridges at our local thrift store - $0.25
each. Anyone needing parts that can be scavenged from one, let me know,
paypal me $.75 to cover mail costs, and you'll have one on the way.
Needless to say, I have no qualms about destroying Combat.

Funny, the other day I was there and picked up Choplifter (7800 version). I
got home, and my wife said, "We should buy every Atari cartridge they have
other than Combat and sell them on eBay." To which I replied, "I *did* buy
every Atari cartridge other than Combat. This is it."
