I have the opportunity to get a game I've been looking for for a
while... a cockpit Race Drivin' in fair condition, but I can't find a
reasonably priced way to get it from where it is to where I live.

The Race Drivin' is in Wisconsin, and I'm in the SF Bay area (No.
California). I contacted Allied Van Lines and they quoted me a price
of $1100 based on the weight (800lbs), which is far more than I can
justify. I hear that Forward Air no longer accepts these kinds of
shipments (and they fouled up lots of mine back when they did,) and I
don't know of any private collector shippers (like Jack Rabbit
Shipping back in the day.)

Does anybody out there know of a way to get this to California?

Thanks,

If you're willing to wait up to two years I'm sure one will pop up within
driving distance. Race Drivin cockpit isn't that hard to find. You may
have the need\bug for it now but you'll save quite a bit (and potential
shipping nightmares) if you're patient.

Try EGL. The second time I used them they only charged $137 to ship a
SSB from TN to MA.

Be warned that I dealt with R&L Carriers for many years while in the
business and they are very "hard" on freight to say the least.

Hi,
The cheapest way is a site called "uship"
They routinely charge only $200-400 for shipments like this
Its a really cheap site and they offer insurance
Kinda like ebay....truckers bid on your shipments
hope this helps

NAVL generally does vids and pins for about $350, last I heard they
are still doing 2 for 1 deals. They might do a cockpit for the price
of 1. Give them a call and ask for Michelle, she'll give you the best
price they have.
