I recently bought one of these and it was working fine but I wanted to
get the proper serial extension cable so I could put all of the cables
in the spiral wrap so I ordered a new 10' cable and now the game does
not boot.

Upon bootup I get a few "failed" items one of them is the "creating
data backup" and another is "microtouch driver" and the other is the
"var/log" could this be just a bad hard drive. Seems to be the
original drive.

If it is the drive, is there a place I could download the iso image to
force 2005 and use a spare 40 gig hard drive I have sitting around
here at home? I'd like to do this today.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

BTW, I tried a 2 button reset and that didn't work.

OMG! Turns out all of my Dip Switches on DS1 were all closed! I had
taken the cover off when I got the game in order to blow it out with
air and see if all of the fans were working and I might have brushed
them when I was taking the cove off or putting it back on. Just to
make sure the switches are all supposed to be in the up position
towards the open side, right?

Anyone know what the dip switch settings on the vibe should be?

Go to www.meritind.com and go to support, all the game manuals are there.
Dip switch settings and some troubleshooting are on that site too.
Good luck

All should be turned off. Try leaving 4 and 7 on and turn on the
game. If that doesn't work, you need a new hard drive. I sell brand
new ones for $60 + shipping. 1 year warranty.

Follow up: FIXED!

Turns out the dip switches were indeed set wrong and when I did a 2
button reset it REALLY messed things up so I did a 4 & 7 dip switch
reset and all is good!
