Thanks for any insight!

Mic, there's a bug in the early revision ROM set that, if exploited, can
yield some massive scores.
I recorded a video about it awhile back if you want to take a look:

Wow - I had heard about that bug but never have been able to get it to
work. Those are some crazy scores. I wonder if the designers when
creating the high score list all used it?
I looked at some of those other videos you had - NICE arcade! There
are more than a couple titles in there I wouldn't mind playing!
Thanks for the answer!

Thanks Mic. Those vids are kind of old. I need to make a new one. A lot
of new games have come in since that last video was taken.
I'm not sure if Rusty Dawe and the rest of the Paperboy team utilized the
glitch for the default HS table or not. Rusty is still around and
actually attended a live chat not long on CoinOpSpace.com. I copied the
transcript over to my site if you want to read though it. There's some
funny stories about Pole Postion and Firefox in it. :) It's a good read:

That is most likely the case with all the default high score tables. But
you never know, I mean...what's the fun in that? :)
Something cool would have been to designate a certain day as 'high score
day" where all those that worked on the game got to play just one game
that day, and those were the scores that would be used for the default
high score list.

You got it. I like the Pole Position rehab story. :) I just checked all
3 PB rom sets in MAME and all the default high score tables are filled
with really elementary scores. So just reset the high score tables for
your board. Any massive scores that you have on your board were made
post-production while in operation and/or in collectors' hands.
Here's how to reset your high score tables (from the manual):
Resetting the High-Score Table. Reset the High-Score Table as follows:
1. Pull the handlebar control upward to position the exclamation mark (!)
next to the Reset High-Score Table message.
2. Press the left-hand throw button to change the NO message to YES.
The High-Score Table is reset after the right-hand throw button is
pressed to leave the Accounting Information screen.
Press the righ-hand throw button to obtail the next sceeen.
