Somebody is eventually going to beat somebody to death with a baseball bat
and this jackass will blame it on MLB 2K games. I can't wait until that mess
with Take Two goes to trial and he gets shut down again, hopefully for good
this time. Unfortunately, Matthews didn't do his homework or he could have
made Thompson look like more of a fool. I wish SOMEBODY would finally expose
him as a stockholder of Take Two. The very company he rails against is
making him money.

At the same time, the VA shooter was known to be an English major, who wrote
violent plays and spoke/wrote with an unnatural prose and poetry in his
stalking emails and his last manifestos. Nobody, however, will ever point
the finger at Shakespeare or classic literature for fostering a sense of
messianic superiority and romanticizing tragedy. Think about everything the
shooter did and said and his motives behind those things -- this guy is the
Shakespeare Killer, but nobody will ever call him that. He will only be the
"mentally disturbed person who was seen playing Counterstrike in a gaming
cafe during his high school years".
This will be the only message I will contribute to the "debate" over
Thompson and the VA shootings. Neither is even worth discussing in the
context of video games. However, I believe that mental health authorities
are failing to act once again, as if Thompson were to go on a shooting
rampage tomorrow, there are plenty of indications that he was headed on that
path. It would not surprise me to learn that he bought a gun and shot people
in order to prove that he was right about it being too easy to buy a gun and
shoot people. We all know that Thompson's problem isn't about violent games;
his problem is that the world does not pay enough attention to Jack
Thompson.
