I've recently made the strange realization that Studio 3DO may be
the next Electronic Arts. Lets take a look:
In the mide 80's, 1985 I believe, Trip Hawkins founded a new , small
company called Electronic Arts. It was devoted to developing good software
across multiple platforms. Mr. Hawkins, over the years, seemed to step out
of the company. Now, ten years later, Electronic Arts is one of the worlds
largest software developers.
In the 90's, Trip Hawkins founded a small company called 3DO.
Initially devoted to creating software for the Opera, it has now
decided to develop across platforms, buying companys, growing,
and making grade A games. Just like EA. What's more, Mr. Hawkins
switched from president of 3DO to CEO. Strange, huh? In another 10 years,
will Studio 3DO be the next EA? Perhaps.

God I hope not..

I don't want them to get the
"Gee, we're the best so we'll slack off on our games for a while.. oh,
Oops! Everyone's flying by us in the sports arena, might as well cancel
all our games this year because they're just not good enough to compete."
problem that EA's got now.

I'm staring into bright lights. Applause, applause, applause, applause.
