Missile Command with a wireless trackball - that's the way you like it!

Perhaps you can find a cheap and affordable solution and then start the big
production. ;-) Honestly, I'd be interested in connecting a PS2 or PC
controller to my Vectrex. That would safe my original Vectrex controller
from wearing out.

I made one of those as well: http://kokosplace.50webs.com/PS2_Interface/PS2_GC_Interface.htm

Yes, I know. What I meant is a *cheap* and *affordable* product - 90$ is
quite some money for an adaptor.

See discussion in topic:

Would you build another adaptor if someone ordered one?

The only way to bring down the price is to build them in large
quantities.
Since the demand is so low that's difficult to accomplish.

It would be rather easy to modify a Genesis controller but then it
would only work in digital mode.

I understand. :-| Would you build another adaptor if you got an order?

Most games use the digital mode, only, so perhaps I go for the Genesis
controller solution. I guess descriptions for converting a Genesis
controller can be found in the web. Already found one:

Hello Kokovec,

I am always intrigued by your activities.
From a technical perspective how are you doing this? Am I right in
thinking that the Propeller chip you are using is doing all the hard
work i.e. reading the mouse and converting to analogue signals which
go directly into the controller port? That means you can use it with
all the games that use the controller in analogue mode?
Do you have to calibrate before hand i.e. indicate to the propellor
the max/min values for the screen coordinates?
Or have you had to modify the software to work with the mouse
controller?

Yes I am using a Propellor chip along with a couple of A/D chips (and
a few other parts).
This connects directly to the Vectrex port and simulates the Vectrex
joystick so that it will work with any game in analog mode.
