This is Rotating Quiz 196. Entries must be posted by Wednesday,
September 16, 2015 at 11:00 p.m. CDT (GMT-6).

Use no reference materials. The winner gets to create the next RQ.

Please post your answers to all questions in a single followup in
the newsgroup, quoting the questions and placing your answer next
to the question number.

Each answer is one of the North American countries in the following list:

Costa Rica Bahamas Cuba Jamaica
El Salvador Barbados Haiti Mexico
Guatemala Dominica Canada Panama
Nicaragua Honduras USA Belize
St. Lucia Grenada Dominican Republic
Antigua and Barbuda St. Kitts and Nevis
Trinidad and Tobago St. Vincent and The Grenadines

Each of the 10 questions below offers a list of commodities exported
by a country, as specified in the CIA World Factbook in each country's
"Economy" tab under "Exports - commodities." Identify the country
for each list of commodities.

In case of a tie, the winner is determined by the difficulty of the
questions answered--defined post-facto as the ones which the fewest
people got right. If this still results in a tie, the first to have
posted the answers is the winner.

I seem to be not very good at quiz constructor. Mine are usually too hard
and there are fewer entrants compared to other RQs. Is it acceptable for
me to play these quizzes but to abdicate creating the next RQ to the
second-place person if I happen to win?

Don't take it as a complaint. I certainly appreciate this quiz more than
one on movie quotes. But maybe it could have been made easier by giving
percentages for all countries, or having fewer possible countries in
the list. I mean, I can have some ideas what they export from Costa Rica
or Canada, but St Kitts and Nevis is a very white spot on my map.

I think seeing just the top 3-4 exports for each country would have
been easier, assuming that it is possible to get this from from the data
used. Of course, I didn't check so I don't know if that actually would
have been easier.

Yeah, I saw that too. But what is coffee here? The raw beans, or could it
also be some roast? Maybe this particular country exports both?

I note that you and I had two guesses in common. (And I had one in common
with Dan Blum.)

Rotating Quiz #196 is over and Stephen Perry is the winner with four
correct answers in this obscure quiz. (I see now that South America
would have been a better choice.) RQ #197 is Stephen's to create.

Possibly, because it would not have given an unfair advantage to the
contestants who live in North America. But I think North America would
have been fine, if you had confined it to the continental states, or
at least left out the smaller island states. I hardly know where
St. Vincent and the Grenadines is - so how would I know that they export
tennis racquets?

Anyway, despite the very high level of difficulty it was a fun quiz!
