1 ha? (Althogh I am not sure that hectars counts as an SI unit. Then again,
I have very little idea of what an acre is.)

Now that you mention it, it's not. But it is one of the non-SI units
that are "accepted for use with the SI". (The others are the day,
hour, and minute of time; the degree, minute, and second of arc;
the liter; and the tonne or metric ton.)

I first entered 1 km² because of the SI unit thing. But then I recalled the
only relation to the acre that I have: the Bilmore estate in Asheville, NC,
is 8000 acres, whereupon I decided that 1 km² was just not reasonable. But
maybe to stay within the realm of the question, I should have answered 1hm².
But I bet that Calvin would not have sorted that out!

Nah. 1 a = 1h(m²). 1 ha = 1(hm)².

I don't follow. (that is not unusual)

1 a = 100 m²
1 ha = 100 a = 10_000 m²

Now, you wrote 1 hm² which is 100 m² which is 1 a.
Or ?

You mean you answered 1 hm² meaning '1 ha m²' ?
That would be an answer in the wrong unit then ? ar * m² = 100 m3 which
is volume ?

Or - I sense som kind of irony here - but I don't get it. But never mind.
