I will score this round on November 22nd after the grand illumination at
peddler's village in lahaska, pennsylvania. if you are in the neighborhood,
I'll be there too. come early, have a nice meal, and enjoy the millions of
lights. you won't regret it.

5. with the help of the make-a-wish foundation and the city of san francisco, who did 5-year-old miles scott get to be for the day on november 15th, 2013?

6. what is the current season of 'american horror story' on the fx network called?

7. a fragile quantum memory state has been held stable at room temperature for a "world record" number of minutes, overcoming a key barrier to ultrafast computers, smashing the old record of 25 seconds. how many minutes?

8. who is sachin tendulkar?

9. what is the common name of the plant whose leaves are shown here http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/af/Quercus_robur.jpg

"The Day of the Doctor" was the BBC's 50th Anniversary episode of Dr
Who, and was the inspiration for this quiz's theme.

First ten fictional doctors:

> 2) Boss of Foreman, Chase and Cameron

Doctor Gregory House (House, MD)

Doctor Doolittle, in the two best known film adaptations

Doctor Quinn, Medicine Woman (TV Show)

Doctor Faustus

Doctor Strangelove

Doctor John Watson, assistant to Sherlock Holmes, wounded in the Second
Anglo-Afghan War, according to "A Study In Scarlet"

> 10) "He's Dead, Jim"

Doctor Leonard "Bones" McCoy

Then ten non-fictional doctors:

Doctor Conrad Murray (convicted of Involuntary Manslaughter in death of
Michael Jackson)

Dr John, legendary New Orleans musician

> 13) Killed his wife, fled on SS Montrose

Dr Hawley Crippen, arrested on arrival in Canada after an early telegram
message had alerted the authorities

Doctor Henry Kissinger. Lehrer supposedly declared this event "rendered
satire obsolete"

Doctor Christian Barnaard, the first successful human heart transplant

The Fremantle Doctor, a wind which blows from Fremantle to Perth,
supposedly changing the conditions of play at the Western Australia

Dr Dre, rapper, record producer and public face of "Beats By Dre"

Julius "Dr J" Erving, NBA/ABA Basketball Player, populariser of the Slam
Dunk and the modern "above-the-rim" style, and provider of at least one
great entry in the "Namesake Series" of Books On Tape. I liked the
answer "Stephen Perry", but he didn't grab quite that many boards.

I'm travelling on business all week. I will be glad to post RQ 125 on
Saturday or Sunday, but I will understand if you want to assign the
the crown to the runner-up.

Agreed (as provider of some of those longer waiting times, I can hardly not)

That's a local variant, he was "Dr Black" originally. Can't deny you
the point though, especially as I gave "Clue" along with "Cluedo".

The rest wholly correct, for a score of 11 plus a note on your permanent
record for tardiness :)

Sorry all. I really must forfeit the victory because of the demands of work.
I'm off on Sunday to spend another 7 days traveling (frigid Montreal) and
preparing for the trip is consuming all my time. I apologize for optimistically
thinking I would get to producing RQ125.
