These questions were written to be asked in Toronto on 2018-03-12,
and should be interpreted accordingly.

On each question you may give up to two answers, but if you give
both a right answer and a wrong answer, there is a small penalty.
Please post all your answers to the newsgroup in a single followup,
based only on your own knowledge. (In your answer posting, quote
the questions and place your answer below each one.) I will reveal
the correct answers in about 3 days.

All questions were written by members of Bill Psychs and are
used here by permission, but have been reformatted and may have
been retyped and/or edited by me. For further information see
my 2017-09-25 companion posting on "Questions from the Canadian
Inquisition (QFTCI*)".

* Game 8, Round 4 - Literature - Posthumously Published Authors

All works in this round were published posthumously.

1. Name *any one* of the four works by Jane Austen that were
published posthumously.

2. Name the book by F. Scott Fitzgerald that centers on the story
of the young Hollywood mogul Monroe Stahr (inspired by the life
of boy-genius Irving Thalberg) and is an expose of the studio
system in its heyday.

3. Name the author of "The Double Tongue", which tells the story of
the Pythia, the priestess of Apollo at Delphi.

4. Name the Swedish author of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"
series -- all three original books in this series were published
posthumously.

5. Name the author of "A Confederacy of Dunces", whose mother wrote
to editors to have her son's work published after he committed
suicide.

6. Name the book by Virginia Woolf that tells the story of
Bartholomew Oliver, a widower and retired Indian Army officer
and his family. The story takes place in a country house in
England just before the Second World War on the day of the
annual pageant.

7. Name Mikhail Bulgakov's book that was written during Stalin's
regime but not published as a book until 1967. The story
features a visit by the devil to Moscow.

8. Name Agatha Christie's posthumous book, which is set in the
1930s and features Miss Marple aiding a young couple who choose
to uncover events in the wife's past life.

9. Name *any one* of the three books by Ian Fleming that were
published posthumously.

10. Name the author of "Portrait of an Artist, as an Old Man" --
the story of Eugene Pota, a prominent writer who, in his old
age, is struggling for that last piece of fiction that could
be his magnum opus, or at least on par with his earlier writings.

For more questions (and some of the same ones) on this subject, see

http://www.sporcle.com/games/jakethegoldfish/posthumously-published-novels-by-author-clickable

which was published on the site one week after the original game.

* Game 8, Round 6 - Miscellaneous - Billy West

Billy West is a prolific voice actor. You may not know the name,
but you have probably heard the voice. The following questions
cover a part of his work.

1. Billy provided voices for both title characters of this
animated show about an unstable chihuahua and a dimwitted cat.
Name the show.

2. Billy voiced the title character of this animated show about
the misadventures of an 11- and later 12-year-old boy. He also
voiced the show's bully, Roger. Name the show.

3. Billy voices multiple characters in "Futurama", Matt Groening's
follow-up to "The Simpsons". Name *any one* of them.

4. Billy voices the red one of what colorful candy-coated chocolates
made by Mars?

5. Billy voiced Buzz, the mascot for what General Mills cereal?

6. Billy voiced Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd in what 1996 basketball
movie?

7. Billy was the narrator, and also the voice of Harvey the Wonder
Hamster, in a short-lived musical-comedy TV show in 1997-98.
Name the show.

8. During Brisk Iced Tea's "That's brisk, baby" campaign, Billy
voiced a famous baseball player and a famous martial artist,
both of associated with curses and both deceased. Name either
of them.

9. Billy provided multiple character voices for a notable
"shock jock" talk-radio show. Name the show.

10. Billy was a top contender to voice this "Scooby Doo" character
after Casey Kasem retired in 2009, but lost the role to Matthew
Lillard. Name the character.

This was the hardest round in the original game, and the 5th-hardest
of the entire season.

"Northanger Abbey", "Persuasion", "Sanditon", "Lady Susan".
4 for Peter and Joshua. 3 for Calvin.

"Sleeping Murder".

Along with "Curtain", featuring Hercule Poirot, this was one of two
books Christie wrote during the early 1940s with the intent that they
would be be set aside and published posthumously for the benefit of
her heirs. Once she had retired she decided there was no reason to
delay publication any further, but then she died before the second
one actually appeared.

> 9. Name *any one* of the three books by Ian Fleming that were

"The Man with the Golden Gun", "Octopussy", "The Living Daylights".
2 for Joshua.

This was really a second Entertainment round, but I didn't think
of changing the category tag before posting it. I will change it
for purposes of the score table.
