Huh? Stallar brightness is measured in both absolute and apparent
magnitude using the same numerical scale, but there's no special name
for that scale such as Richter Scale or Beaufort Scale. Ptolemy is
credited with first assigning magnitudes to stars, so if it had a name,
it'd be named after him.
