Cowcatcher -- normally one word in my experience. You forgot to say
"North American" railroad locomotive, though I guess the use of
"railroad" implied that anyway.

Arrgh -- I went one too high!

For what it's worth, I was thinking about the dimensionality of the
surface, and not the space you have to embed it into to realize it.
And, of course, Klein was also German.

I think the question is ambiguous enough that Klein is also a correct
answer.
