Since Ford lost most of his powers, he's made it a habit to argue
against just about anything City Council is going to pass. Bars and
restaurants here are normally only allowed to serve alcohol from
11 AM until 2 AM, and the game was at 7 AM our time, hence the matter
of a temporary exemption because of the "strong association between
watching a hockey game and perhaps having a beer", as one proponent
put it. The measure passed by a vote of 37-4.
