This is Rotating Quiz #184.

The winner will be the first choice to set RQ 185,
in a manner of their choosing.

Please answer based only on your own knowledge; put all
of your answers in a single posting, quoting the question
before each one.

Answer slates must be posted by noon Philadelphia time
(GMT-4) on Saturday, 2015-06-13, which gives you 6 days
and some number of hours from the time of posting.

In case of a tie, the first tiebreaker will be who scored
on the hardest questions; and the second tiebreaker will be
who posted first.

I tried to get this in before 6pm today, but couldn't quite
swing it. if I have made any typos or other errors, please
forgive me. it's been a long day.

I'm recusing myself because I read over the questions without answering
them, and then later saw a list of the answers to the above question in
the newspaper.

However, I do wonder about the above question. Assuming this quiz was
meant to be posted before the Belmont Stakes, what was the rationale for
potentially penalizing early answerers? I don't see the second
tiebreaker as being that significant here.

apparently everyone else is talking about this private matter for the former olympic decathlon champion. I could not care less.

note: I did not think any of these would be stumpers, with several of them having been in the news recently. I was wrong about that. I am open to suggestions about question formats and topics to make this more enjoyable for everyone in the future. I try to not use north american only questions, although looking back I can see my bias for those and will try to do better in the future.

so now on to the scores:
