Clarke.
(At one point it was planned that the movie screenplay would be by
Kubrick and Clarke and the novel by Clarke and Kubrick, but Clarke
ended up getting sole credit for the novel. On the other hand, he
didn't have it released simultaneously with the movie as originally
intended, but some time later, so it gave the impression of being a
novelization.)

According to Canada, Canada. According to the US, no country.
Of course, if you get close enough to the respective sections of
coast you might pass undisputedly through both the US and Canada.

I didn't know there was a TV version, but it's got to be "A Funny Thing
Happened on the Way to the Forum". That's Howerd, by the way.

A cetacean with one long tusk.

In the US, Miller's /The Crucible/ and /Death of a Salesman/ are part
of the curriculum in almost every high school. Or at least, they
were when I went to school. I don't know how famous Miller is
abroad, but in the US there's really no excuse for the mistake I
made.

And in the UK, anyone who had studied Eng. Lit. would know him even if
he hadn't married Marilyn Monroe.

1/11- nice work Mark
This was a *very* difficult question which I just included for a laugh to
see who would guess Johnson. Richie Benaud was a good try given by several
posters.

Soprano

I think Alto Soprano is incorrect, I think that's the second highest.
I fairly sure that Coloratura Soprano is also incorrect as that's just a
style of singing.
