These questions were written to be asked in Toronto on 2015-11-09,
and should be interpreted accordingly.

On each question you may give up to two answers, but if you give
both a right answer and a wrong answer, there is a small penalty.
Please post all your answers to the newsgroup in a single followup,
based only on your own knowledge. (In your answer posting, quote
the questions and place your answer below each one.) I will reveal
the correct answers in about 3 days.

All questions were written by members of the Bloor St. Irregulars,
and are used here by permission, but have been reformatted and may
have been retyped and/or edited by me. For further information
see my 2015-08-18 companion posting on "Questions from the Canadian
Inquisition (QFTCI*)".

* Game 007, Round 9 - Entertainment - Bond Girls

Just before we move on to the challenge round, here's a round
that's actually about James Bond, or James Bond movies anyway.

I've rearranged the questions in order by picture number, and I'll
kindly present them in color although at the original game they were
black-and-white and some images came out too dark to see easily.

For the first 8 questions, we name the character and you must name
the actress pictured. For Questions #1-5, please see:

http://www.eskimo.com/~scs/msb/7-9/007/1.jpg

1. Honey Rider.
2. Miranda Frost, in "Die Another Day".
3. Tracy di Vicenzo-Bond.
4. Dr. Christmas Jones.
5. Chinese secret agent Wai Lin.

For #6-10, see: http://www.eskimo.com/~scs/msb/7-9/007/2.jpg

6. Assassin May Day.
7. Domino Petachi, in "Never Say Never Again".
8. Vesper Lynd, in "Casino Royale".

For questions #9-10, we name the actress and you name the
*character* pictured. First and last name required for full points.

9. Famke Janssen in "GoldenEye".
10. Honor Blackman in "Goldfinger".

* Game 007, Round 10 - License to Challenge Round

A. Sean (Entertainment)

A1. What is the last name of the Jamaican dance-hall reggae
toaster Sean, who topped the Billboard Hot 100 in 2003 with
his song "Get Busy"?

A2. Sean Bean provides a link between J.R.R. Tolkien and "the
American Tolkien", George R.R. Martin: Sean Bean was in
the "Lord of the Rings" movie series and in the TV series
"Game of Thrones". Name his character in either series.

B. George (Geography)

B1. St. George's is the capital of which country that was on
the front page of the New York Times in late October 1983?

B2. St. George, on the other hand, is a UNESCO World Heritage
site that is the location of the third successful English
settlement in the Americas (after St. John's and Jamestown).
Which island -- a British Overseas Territory -- is it on?

C. Roger (Sports)

C1. What is the last name of Roger, a man who was born in
1959 and who the "Wall Street Journal" described in 2011 as
"the most powerful man in sports"?

C2. Roger Clemens played for four different major-league teams:
the Boston Red Sox, the New York Yankees, the Toronto Blue
Jays, and which other team? (Either the city or the team
name is acceptable unless it would be ambiguous.)

D. Timothy (Literature)

D1. Tiny Tim is a character in Charles Dickens's 1843 classic
"A Christmas Carol". What was Tim's *father's* name?
First and last name required.

D2. Timmy was the name of the dog in Enid Blyton's "Famous
Five" series. Name any one of the four human members of
the Famous Five.

E. Pierce (History)

In each case, the surname is sufficient unless it would be ambiguous.

E1. The 14th president of the United States, President Pierce,
had the same first name as the 32nd president. Name the
32nd president.

E2. Which first lady of the United States, born in 1925, had
the maiden name Pierce?

F. Daniel (Science)

F1. What is the last name of Daniel, the Swiss mathematician
and physicist born in 1700 who is remembered for his work in
fluid mechanics, the conservation of energy, and probability
and statistics?

F2. What is the last name of Daniel, the German physicist
and engineer born in 1686 who developed the mercury-in-glass
thermometer?

Let's go for George then. Or Georgina who was her actual name.
