The hand damage is set to three by the torn and card text from
Lasvernous increases this to five.

I believe that the TS Sets your hand damage. That is Lazverinus should
have 3 after playing a TS.

5. Torn Signpost sets his base strength (which on all vampires is a
default of 1) to 3. His +2 strength then applies.

He has a base of 3.

His card text then adds 2 to this.

Correct. Laz's strength modifier remains in effect.
