When played at superior, Outside the Hourglass deals one damage rather
than two to a Nephandus, correct? That is, OtH is considered a
"damaging effect" rather then environmental damage?

Outside the Hourglass
Inflict 2 damage on the opposing minion.

Nephandus (Mage)
Each strike or damaging effect made against the Nephandus by the
opposing minion during combat inflicts 1 less damage.

Yes.

What you mean is "OtH is considered damage 'from the minion' rather
than environmental damage."

And that is correct.

(Both damage-from-a-minion and environmental damage are considered
damaging effects.)

Ah, okay. It's the "by the opposing minion" text on Nephandus that
makes them vulnerable to environmental damage, not the "damaging
effect" text. Gotcha. Thanks.
