I'm reasonably sure this has been answered somewhere already, but I
couldn't find it. I searched for:
"strike conviction agg author:LSJ"
"strike conviction aggravated author:LSJ"
"strike conviction modify author:LSJ"
"strike conviction damage author::LSJ"
"strike damage modify author:LSJ"
But I didn't find the answer. Though, I did read an enjoyable thread
from 2001 where James and LSJ went back and forth about 15 times on
the definition of a hand strike. :)
I think the answer is 2 agg + 1 normal, because of parallel wording on
Dragon's Breath Rounds, and I know that DBR add aggravated damage
without respect to the original damage type.
Also, because I believe this question to already have been answered,
I'd love to know what I should have searched for.
Thanks,
Ira
Strike with Conviction [NoR:C]
Cardtype: Conviction
Burn to make a hand or weapon strike against a monster at +1 damage.
Burn to bleed at +1 bleed as a (D) action.
Dragon's Breath Rounds [Jyhad:U, VTES:U, CE:U/PTo, Third:U]
Cardtype: Combat
Ammo.
Only usable before resolution of a gun's strike. This gun inflicts +2
aggravated damage each strike for the remainder of this combat. Burn
the gun after strike resolution. No more than 1 ammo card can be used
on a gun each combat.
If I refer to Stone's work "Art of combat" (a summary of the rules and
RTRs),
1) the "base" damage doesn't inherit from the additionnal damage.
Therefore, the 1 damage of the Saturday Night Special is not
aggravated, even if the 2 additionnal damage from the Dragon Breath
Rounds are aggravated.
2) the additionnal damage does inherit from the base damage.
Therefore, Travis strikes for 3 aggravated damage with a Flame Thrower
+ Strike with Conviction (2 aggravated base damage + 1 aggravated
additionnal damage).
>If Travis strikes with a Flamethrower using Strike with Conviction,
>does it do 2 agg + 1 normal, or 3 agg?
Three agg.
Flamethrower + Target Vitals = 2/4 agg
Flamethrower + Target Vitals + Strike with Conviction = 3/5 agg

You needed to look for "additional damage".

Start here:
http://www.white-wolf.com/vtes/index.php?line=rulings
Scroll down to Damage (Combat), and you will find:
Additional damage inherits all of the properties of the base damage
(So the +1 damage from lucky blow is aggravated for Basilia).
Dragon's Breath Rounds is not parallel at all.
See the same section:
The base damage does not inherit the properties of the additional
damage (So a Saturday Night Special with Dragon's Breath Rounds does 1
normal plus 2 aggravated damage).
